"Winning means you're willing to go longer, work harder, and give more than anyone else."
— Vince Lombardi, Champion Football Coach
Winning requires you to separate yourself from the pack. You have to be better than everyone you’re competing against.
You can do that by working harder, smarter, or both; it’s up to you.
But always remember that if you want to win, you must somehow top what everyone else is doing.
Observe what your competitors are doing
Do more than that

"To compete at your best is all that matters."
— Aimee Mullins, Athlete and Actress
In any competitive space whether it be sport, business, or something else, there will always be things out of your control. Your competition might be better skilled, more resourced, or just plain lucky.
But none of that should matter to you. There’s nothing you can do to change such things and therefore….. nothing to worry about!
The way to give yourself the best chance of winning is to focus on you. Do your best with what you have. Work as hard and smart as you can.
Most people are far too obsessed with everyone else’s situation. If you can be the outlier that focuses on your own execution, you’ll go further than 99% of them!
"Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit."
— Aristotle, Philosopher and Polymath
Most people totally overblow the idea of “talent“.
Sure, some people have a slight edge from their genetics or natural love for a particular endeavour. But that slight edge doesn’t mean those people don’t work hard to achieve high-level goals. Average outcomes might come readily to some, but no one becomes the very best without extensive training.
High achievements are obtained through consistent, deliberate effort over time.
